New to the pregnancy Board! (A little long and maybe too much TMI, Readers BEWARE)
I am currently 6 weeks and 3 days. I went last Wednesday for my first ultra sound and I saw the sac and heard a couple faint heart bearts. I go again this Thurs. to get another ultra sound and the tech said we should be able to hear the heart beat better and see the baby a little bit better. I'm thinking to myself, what could possibly change that much in 1 week?? I guess I will find out! So on with a couple questions. This is my first pregnancy that is "sticking". I've had a miscarriage in the past, but everything look good thus far. I spotted a little (brownish, not red or pink) is this normal?? M y OBGYN said not to worry if it's not red or pink. It's sad to say this but I disect everytime I go to the bathroom making sure everything is ok... (Sorry if that was too much TMI) I've also been experiencing some sharp pains but only if I get up too fast or twist/stretch in a wrong way. Is that normal or could that be a sign of something being wrong???
Sorry that this is long and I know I sound like a crazy person!!! I'm excited but yet scared all at the same time. Thanks for reading and any advice that anyone has is welcome.
Thanks!
Jess

Howdy from someone who went to the same group of Dr's for WLS. I would say that the pains could be completely normal. I have had them every pregnancy (1 m/c, one healthy baby, and with current pregnancy)...that is how I usually know I preggy besided the test. I go the the bathroom looking for my period...no show..then I get cramps from expanding, etc. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is a healthy pregnancy. It seems silly, but in very early pregnancy a lot changes even in the matter of 2 or 3 days. I have even had pink spotting and been fine. I think almost everyone woman must feel the same rush of emotions- it's exciting but scary at the same time.
Hello!!! Thanks for the response! It is very much appreciated! I think I'm going crazy inside and thinking I am the only one feeling like this. My fiance tells me all the time to jsut relax and everything is fine. Great to have such an awesome husbad to be (and daddy now!) Congrats on your pregnancy as well!

You will be AMAZED at how much changes in a week! They grow fast at this point. As for disecting everything when you go to the bathroom LOL I am 22 weeks and I still watch the TP for any signs of something wrong, and even peek in before I flush to make sure everything is kosher, so you are not alone.
I will keep my fingers crossed that you get amazing news at your next u/s! Good luck and keep us posted.

The sharp pain could be the beginning of the round ligament pain that accompanies the uterus moving and changing position. And OH BOY! does that hurt.. feels like someone stabbed ya with a red hot poker.
Our OBs say that brownish discharge in little amounts is okay. Usually it's just the clearing of old lining/blood, and nothing to get overly excited about.
And yes, baby is making like crazy with every day changes. I love two books for discussing daily changes and weekly changes during pregnancy. Next time I waddle out from the house, I'll send you the names of them. One is a pregnancy journal that lists day by day what the baby is doing, plus gives nutrition tips, what is done in other culures, etc. The other one goes over a weekly view, and covers a lot of different issues that arise. I like both of them much better than What To Expect When You're Expecting.

I know how you feel. I still check the tissue when wiping. Still look in the toilet to see if anything is there. Not easy. So much changes in a week thats for sure. I too have problems with miscarriage as this is my 7th pregnancy and I have 2 boys 15 and 10. Every pain is so easy to worry about. Some pains you just expect but man is it easy to say was that normal and is this normal. Just makes you a mom!! Welcome to the board!!
